Year End Travel Team Report
November 5, 2011
Well the good news
first. We defeated our cross town
rivals (Redhawk) to keep the trophy in our house. For another year, we hold the bragging rights. We know all the players at Redhawk and
itÕs become a very enjoyable match (unless you lose). We look forward to next yearÕs matches with our friends.
Now for the not-so-good
news!! We got our butts kicked
against TCI 28-8 finishing in 5th place in the league. The trouncing allowed TCI to leap frog
two teams ahead of them going into the position round and as a result,
dethroned the annual evil empire for 1st place. That being Canyon lakes. IÕm still getting threats and
accusations of a set-up.LOL
Some news regarding our
future travel team endeavors including our entry into the SCGA winter league
play after being absent for awhile.
Ron Frederick will captain those matches which, starting in January,
will run 6 consecutive weeks involving home and away matches. Our TVGL travel
team will be under new leadership for 2012. Due to the serious possibility of not having a President or
Vice President for the Temecula Valley Golf League and putting the survival of
the league in danger, I was nominated and accepted the position of President
along with Bob Keplar (Inland Valley) agreeing to stay on as
Vice-President. His willingness to
stay on made my decision easier.
HeÕs been an excellent level headed officer for the league and I look
forward to working with him. Paul Crommelin will continue to handle the finances.
The Legends Golf Club at Temeku Hills will become the un-official home course
for the TVGL for the purpose of meetings, etc.,. ItÕs also a logical choice to have a more central
meeting venue.
